Posh – Why Losing Could Be Good?

After successive, heavy home defeats, to two Premier League sides, I have these doubts in my mind.

I`m torn between two trains of thought, let me explain.

After losing to Aston Villa (Saturday) and Tottenham (Tuesday), I can`t help feeling that the experience is a little humbling. I can`t help feeling that two successive defeats may just have knocked a little of the stuffing out of us and drained our confidence, especially with a fixture against a side who finished eighth in the Premier League, Fulham, still to come. It almost makes me yearn for a few lacklustre fixtures against teams we can beat, St Neots, Rochdale or St Albans anyone!

But then again, those defeats could be a bonus; they could well be a blessing in disguise.

With all the talk being of a three year plan to get into the Premier League, of Posh making a splash at the highest level, perhaps the realisation might sink in that there is a hell of a lot to do in those three years, also, if the players are under any illusion that stepping up a division will be a doddle, those twp defeats might just urge them to think again, they might urge them to dig deep and take nothing for granted.

I can`t help thinking that, behind the scenes at London Road; someone has been very astute in selecting our friendly opposition.

See, losing can be very beneficial!
