Posh – Wigan Interest in Darren Ferguson!

Our concerns over the future of Darren Ferguson were upped to another level last night with the revelation that Wigan could be on the verge of making an official approach for his services.

With Darragh MacAnthony having dismissed any interest from Reading, his resolve looks as if it`s about to be tested in the form of an offer from the Premier League side. More worryingly for us Posh fans is that Darragh has already stated he`ll only listen to interest from the top flight clubs.

Wigan, who look very likely to lose their current manager, Steve Bruce, to Sunderland, will not be fazed by the reported £250,000 compensation Darren would cost as they look likely to receive a far more heftier amount from Sunderland who are seeking to recruit Steve Bruce.

Sadly, despite our recent back-t-back promotions there is this black cloud hanging over us that suggests to me Darren may well have bossed his last Posh game!

Even though I hope we do take him, I feel for you guys – we’ve been in your position a lot more than many clubs. Truth is though, I thought we were dead and buried when Paul Jewell announced he was leaving us. You just can’t predict how things will work out.
