Yesterday we ran an article suggesting that the deal to make Gabriel Zakuani a permanent Posh player had been agreed between the two clubs, Peterborough and Fulham.
We also conveyed that the only remaining stumbling block was convincing the player, suggesting it could be the trickiest part of the deal, well we could be proven right.
Speaking to the local radio station, BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, Zakuani has indicated that a deal is far from done, remarking,
‘I haven’t spoken to Fulham and I won’t be revealing anything until I’ve met with both parties.”
‘I’ve spoken to Darren Ferguson and Barry Fry and I know of their interest, so it’s very flattering.’
‘The loan is done on 13 December so once that is out of the way we will sit down and try and work something out.’
‘I’ve enjoyed it at Peterborough, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the place and the results on the pitch have been good as well.’
Considering the progress we`ve made with him in the side, (unbeaten since he joined us) I think we should pull out all the stops out to sign him, don`t you?
