What did you think to referee Ross Joyce`s performance in the Sky Bet League One match between Blackburn Rovers and Peterborough United?
After having two poor rookie referees in the last two matches, Posh had the pleasure of an official in his third season as a Football League referee. A “pleasure” isn`t really how the official performed as he made numerous errors including missing two penalty appeals for Posh, one was a blatant one by Rovers goalkeeper Raya who pulled back Danny Lloyd to stop him prodding in goal number two for Posh.
Had Joyce or his assistant seen the incident and awarded a penalty, Raya could also have seen red for his actions. A definite red card should have been shown in the second half after a horrendous challenge on Michael Doughty by Corry Evans but shockingly the referee just showed a yellow!
Four yellow cards were shown in total with both sides picking up two each with both cards for Posh being very soft and weren`t worthy of a yellow!
