What did you think to referee Dean Whitestone`s performance in the Sky Bet League One match between Peterborough United and Southend United?
Referee Dean Whitestone and one of his assistants were controversial figures in this match between Posh and the Shrimpers.
Whitestone made a number of incorrect decisions but none were as controversial as two incorrect decision made by one of his assistants.
This one particular assistant waved offside numerous times against Posh, some correct some incorrect but two of his offside decisions affected the result of this match as they also ruled out a brace of goals from Posh left back Andrew Hughes.
The first was a cracking strike after running past his man to thunder a shot into the opposite bottom corner of the net while the second was more closer but he was still onside when he ran onto a delightful Marcus Maddison chip to slot it past the keeper with his right-foot.
It`s bad enough to disallow one valid goal, but two is absolute incompetence; either that or the assistant wanted the visitors to win!
