The man in charge of the npower Championship match between Burnley and Peterborough United is MICHAEL DEAN.

The Wirral-based official takes charge of his first Championship match of the season having refereed three Premiership matches so far this season. His last match was Manchester United`s narrow 3-2 win at Southampton. He was also in charge of last season`s Premiership title decider between Manchester City and QPR.

He has issued 5 yellow cards in his three matches this season with no reds being shown.

The last Posh game he officiated was five years ago in October 2007 when he took charge of Posh`s 2-1 home win over Grimsby Town in League Two! Posh had to come from behind in that match. George Boyd equalized for Posh before Aaron McLean scored a penalty 10 minutes from time. Six yellow cards were issued in that game with two of them going to Posh players – Kieran Charnock and Charlie Lee.

Burnley will want to forget their last match officiated by Dean. It was a 4-0 drubbing at Leicester in April 2011.
