The man in charge of the npower Championship match between Nottingham Forest and Peterborough United is EDDIE ILDERTON.

Eddie Ilderton

The Tyne and Wear based official takes charge of his second Forest game this season while it will be his first Posh match this season.

He took charge when Forest visited Blackpool at the end of October. Dexter Blackstock scored a last minute equaliser as the game finished 2-2 with two yellow cards being issued; one to each side.

Ilderton took charge of Posh twice last season as he oversaw the 4-3 home defeat by Barnsley. It was a game that saw no bookings unlike the second game he refereed which saw five yellow cards issued in the 1-1 draw at Doncaster. Posh received three of those cards which went to George Boyd, Paul Taylor and Ryan Bennett. Over 2,000 Posh fans travelled up to Doncaster to give a warm send off to Ryan Bennett who was playing his last match for Posh before moving to Premiership Norwich City while Tyrone Barnett scored a last minute equaliser on his Posh debut.

So far this season, Ilderton has issued 70 yellow cards in his 20 games he`s refereed. He has only issued two red cards this season which went to players in League One.

His last match was on New Years Day when he took charge of Accrington`s 1-0 win against Chesterfield in League Two. Four yellow cards were issued in that match.

His last Championship match was just before Christmas when Birmingham drew 2-2 with Burnley in a game which saw six yellow cards, four of which went to City.

The assistant referees for the Nottingham Forest v Posh match are Dan Robathan and Mark Russell. The fourth official is Alan Young.
