The man in charge of the Sky Bet League One match between Preston North End and Peterborough United is MARK BROWN.

Mark Brown

Taxi driver Mark Brown takes charge of his fifth ever Posh match and Posh will be hoping the result goes the same way as the last three matches he has overseen.

Posh won those matches 4-0, 1-0 and 2-0 although the first Posh match Brown refereed ended 2-0 to Hartlepool which also saw Lee Tomlin sent off in the 82 minute!

The last Posh match Brown took charge of was at the start of the 2012/13 season when Posh hosted League Two side Southend United in the Capital One Cup first round. Goals by Lee Tomlin, Paul Taylor, Joe Newell and George Boyd eased Posh into the next round while Gaby Zakuani was the only Posh recipient of a yellow card. Southend picked up three yellow cards with one of them going to Kane Ferdinand.

The Lilywhites last encountered Brown in August when they hosted MK Dons. The match finished 2-2 with the Dons Stephen Gleeson picking up the only yellow card of the match.

So far this season, the East Yorkshire-based official has refereed 26 matches showing 57 yellow cards and seven red cards!

His last match came a week last Saturday when he took charge of the Championship encounter between QPR and Yeovil Town. The R`s won that match 3-0 while Yeovil picked up all three yellow cards issued in the match.

The last League One match Brown took charge of came in mid-February when Bradford City beat Port Vale 1-0 thanks to a 90th minute Carl McHugh winner. Four yellow cards were issued in that match with only one being shown to the home side.

The assistant referees for the Lilywhites v Posh clash are Kevin Mulraine and Tony Peart. The fourth official is Scott Oldham.
