The man in charge of the npower Championship match between Peterborough United and Cardiff City is EDDIE ILDERTON.

The Tyne and Wear based official takes charge of his second Posh game this season while it will be his third match in charge of Cardiff this season!

Posh have never won a game with Ilderton in charge! They`ve lost four matches and drawn three but there have been some memorable matches, most notably two seasons ago in League One when the Sky TV cameras came along to London Road to witness a very entertaining 4-4 draw with Southampton. Posh came back twice from two-goal deficits (0-2 and 2-4) with Lee Tomlin converting Posh`s second penalty of the game in the last minute. Five yellow cards were issued in that game with Charlie Lee picking up the sole yellow card for Posh.

Cardiff had Ilderton as recently as mid-February when they defeated Bristol City 2-1 in the Welsh capital. The Bluebirds other match with Ilderton in charge this season also ended in 2-1 to the Welsh side. Both matches had just one yellow card shown and both to the opposition.

Including the two wins this season, Cardiff have won six matches with Ilderton in charge whilst just losing on three occasions.

So far this season, Ilderton has issued 86 yellow cards in his 28 games he`s refereed. He has only issued four red cards this season and two of those came in the same match. Rotherham had two players sent off in their 2-0 away defeat to Burton at the start of February.

His last match came just over a week ago when Bradford beat Wycombe 1-0 at Valley Parade. Just one card was issued which went to Wanderers defender Charles Dunne.

Ilderton`s last Championship match was the week before on Monday 11th March when Hull battled to a narrow 1-0 win at Burnley. Steve Bruce`s son Alex was the only recipient of a yellow card on that night.

The assistant referees for this match will be Mark Griffiths and John Magill. The fourth official is Ollie Yates.
