The man in charge of the televised FA Cup First Round Replay between Tranmere Rovers and Peterborough United is MICHAEL SALISBURY.

Preston-based official Michael Salisbury is the lucky referee who has the pleasure of taking charge of the FA Cup first round replay between Rovers and Posh.

Salisbury has only been officiating in the Football League for one season and prior to that, he had one season as a level 2A official which meant he could referee in the National League!

He has had a rapid rise up the referee ranks may have been helped by his father?Football League referee Graham Salisbury!

Michael has officiated Posh just once and that was only after referee Rob Lewis dropped out late on and was replaced by Salisbury. That match came in January when Posh traveled to Lancashire to face Oldham Athletic and lost two-nil!

Paul Green opened the scoring after 69 minutes before Ryan McLaughlin wrapped things up with eight minutes remaining. Three yellow cards were issued during the game with all of them going to Latics players.

During Salisbury`s only season in the National League, he officiated two Rovers matches. Both came at Prenton Park and both ended in defeat with Rovers failing to score both times!

The first time they lost two-nil to Boreham Wood in a match which saw Posh striker Junior Morias being an unused substitute for the visitors. One yellow card was issued during the match which went to Rovers Steven Jennings.

The second time, Macclesfield went away with all the points following a one-nil victory. Just one card was shown again but this time it went to the visitors.

So far this season, Salisbsury has officiated 14 matches issuing 34 yellow cards and 1 red card.

The last match Salisbury officiated was the FA Cup first round match between Stevenage and non-league Nantwich. The League side ran out comfortable five-nil winners but they had to wait until midway through the second half before they made their superiority count. Up until that point they just had a single Matt Godden striker to show but two further goals by Godden and a brace from Jonathan Smith gave the hosts a slightly flattering scoreline. Two yellow cards were shown which both went to the home side.

The last League One match Salisbury refereed came in the same match that saw former Posh striker Tom Nichols score his first goals for Bristol Rovers. That tap-in came just after the hour mark before Rory Gaffney made the game safe with a second Rovers goal against MK Dons. MK`s Ed Upson received the only yellow card of the match.

The assistant referees for the Rovers v Posh clash are Duncan Street and Joe Simpson. The fourth official is Ben Toner.
