What do you think the score will be in the opening match of League One between Rochdale and Peterborough United?

Rochdale v Posh

Rochdale -Vs- Peterborough United
Venue: Spotland
Date: Saturday, 9th August, 2014
Kick-off: 15:00pm

Finally, it`s back. Football is here again and Posh kick-off their season away at last season`s League Two third placed team Rochdale.

Had it not been for a final day defeat, Dale could`ve been champions as they were top of the League going in to the final day of the season!

Dale will be full of confidence having been promoted and they will want to start the campaign off in a positive way although they will have to do it without their top scorer from last season. Scott Hogan scored 19 goals in 40 appearances for Dale and was the subject of a bid from Posh in January which the player knocked back. He has since signed for Championship newcomers Brentford.

Posh will be looking to put the disappointing League One Play-Offs behind them and launch another attempt at getting promoted. They`ve gone unbeaten in pre-season as Darren Ferguson split his players into two teams and has tried to keep the same set of players together for each match.

This should mean Posh have a more settled side coming into the League campaign as the main team have been playing with each other throughout pre-season. With the exception of one or two players, everyone should be able to name the starting line-up.

The last time these two teams met at Spotland was in the 2010/11 season when the match finished 2-2. John-Louis Akpa Akpro gave Dale the best start possible in the first minute but a goal in the last minute of the first-half and the first minute of the second-half, through Lee Tomlin and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing respectively, gave Posh the advantage until three minutes from time when Craig Dawson levelled things up.

What do you think the score will be this time?

Cast your vote below and we will let you know what the outcome was nearer the match.
