Peterborough United have turned down a substantial bid for their England Under-21 centre-back Ryan Bennett

Bennett has been getting better and better since his arrival from Grimsby Town.

His calmness and form this season has impressed the England bosses that he received his call up to the England Under-21 team in latter stages of last year.

There have been many rumours speculating on the future of Bennett with Premier League clubs reportedly interested in him.

Fergie insists he is under no pressure to sell any of his squad, especially as he only has two recognised centre backs at the club following the departure of loanees Josh Thompson and Scott Wootton.

‘Nobody will be leaving. We’ve turned down a large bid for one of our players, but it’s nowhere near our evaluation and I’m fortunate I’ve got a chairman who doesn’t sell for the sake of it.’
