‘Rebel’ million pound striker Tyrone Barnett looks set to be leaving London Road on loan.

It is believed the striker will sign on loan with fellow relegation team Ipswich Town, the team Posh next face in the League on Saturday!

It is understood that the loan is with a view to signing permanently for the Tractor Boys in January.

The striker, who only signed permanently for Posh in the summer, is one of two players who were suspended and fined last week following a fracas in Peterborough City Centre which culminated in his arrest along with a fellow player.

Both Barnett and winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing have been told that they will never play for Posh again following this incident.

Mendez-Laing has already been shipped out to Portsmouth on an initial one month loan and he made his debut at the weekend in Pompey’s 1-0 home defeat to Doncaster. He made an instant impact and was named man of the match as Pompey caretaker boss Guy Whittingham told BBC Radio Solent:’I’m very pleased with Nathaniel, he started to get people on their feet when he got the ball and I think it shows he has the ability to run at people and create things for us.’.

Barnett played 13 times for Posh on loan at the back end of last season scoring four goals while this season he has played 10 times scoring just one goal!

It is expected that he won’t be allowed to play against Posh on Saturday [24th November, 2012] should he agree to the loan.
