The Mark Cooper era begins with a loss but there were a lot of positive points to take from the game.

Whilst we`re still looking for that elusive first away win in the Championship and although we`re rooted to the bottom of the Championship with a gap developing between us and those clear of the relegation zone, Cooper will know that on another day we could have at the very minimum taken a share of the spoils.

The starting eleven had a familiar look to it apart from the defence. Cooper had obviously decided that his best four would include New boys Griffiths, Bennett and the seemingly out of favour Lee along with Zakuani.

The home side got off to the better start, in front of a crowd in excess of 25,000 with Camara looking the most likely to open the scoring. Posh were restricted to one long range effort from Boyd before Ched Evans crashed a shot against the bar that bounced down, whether it was over the line or not I`ll let you all decide.

Posh looked as if they`d got to half time all score but the dangerous Camara was to have the last laugh. With three minutes to go to the break Ward and Walker combined to provide a chance for Evans, Lewis saved the initial shot but couldn`t stop Camara from netting the rebound.

Returning for the second half Posh got stuck in and a Griffiths ball into Boyd should have at least resulted in making their keeper work. Instead Boyd couldn`t connect and things were to get worse for our record consecutive appearance maker when he was to miss a penalty.

It came after Davies had upended Mackail-Smith in the box and the miss was to prove costly. Posh continued to push forward but couldn`t capitalise on their good approach work by applying the finishing touches in the box.

Another defeat, we`re still bottom but we`ll be there next Saturday, at London Road, when Middlesbrough pitch up, won`t we?
