Peterborough registered their second pre-season win on English soil, following their triumph over Rochdale in Marbella, with a narrow victory over a gallant St Neots side.

Peterborough eventually ran out 2-1 winners but they were pushed hard by the United Counties League side.

The Peterborough side had a relatively young look to it with a few old heads, from the transfer list, thrown in to add some experience. Showing their faces as their Posh careers come to a close were Sergio Torres, Rene Howe and Danny Blanchett.

Posh took the lead through a lovely strike from Jay Davies, from all of 25 yards, before the home side leveled to make a real match of it.

However, Posh persevered and a move involving Rendell and Torres saw Rendell score the winner.

Next up is competition of a different sort when Aston Villa arrive at London Road.
