Date: 4th August, 2012
Kick-off: 3pm

Former Stevenage players George Boyd and Michael Bostwick return to the club where they made their name for Posh`s latest friendly.

Gary Smith`s Stevenage welcome Peterborough to the Lamex Stadium as both clubs look for another win in their pre-season campaigns. However Posh come into the fixture having failed to record a win, or score a goal against league opposition so far in pre-season.

TEAM NEWS

Peterborough United

Peterborough United winger Daniel Kearns will miss the fixture with Stevenage, following his injury in the friendly with Aston Villa. Although, he, and the Posh staff, are hopeful of getting him ready for the Championship opener at Leicester. Nathaniel Mendez-Laing will return to the line-up in Kearns` place.

Full back Craig Alcock, and strikers Dave Hibbert and Emile Sinclair, are all still out through injury. Alcock is expected to take part in Posh`s final friendly of pre-season (away at Boston), but Sinclair and Hibbert aren`t expected to return to training for another 3 weeks.

A number of players that didn`t feature against Villa, are likely to play a full 90 minutes tomorrow. This includes Michael Bostwick, George Boyd, Kgosi Nthle, Michael Richens and Lee Frecklington. It is also possible that keepers, Bobby Olejnik and Joe Day, could both get 45 minutes each once again. Former Stevenage trialist, Nicky Ajose, could also start the match.

Vital Posh predicts the starting line-up could be:

Olejnik

Richens   Zakuani   Brisley   Nthle

Mendez-Laing   Bostwick   Frecklington   Boyd

Tomlin   Barnett

Stevenage FC

Stevenage are expected to include most of their new signings in their squad, including latest signing Lucas Akins, who has completed his move from Tranmere.

PREDICTION

Stevenage took Posh to extra time last time they hosted them, but a late Lee Tomlin penalty grabbed a dramatic win for Darren Ferguson`s men.

This will be by no means an easy game for the Posh, but this is a game they should be winning..

Vital Posh predicts a deserved3 – 1 win.
