Swindon v Posh Preview

The games are now starting to come thick and fast, after our 2-1 win over Colchester United, on Saturday, it`s time to focus on Tuesday night`s game at the County Ground, against Swindon Town.

Swindon are not having the best of seasons and currently are languishing in eighteenth place having lost more at home (4) than they`ve won (3). On Saturday they were denied a valuable away win by a last minute equaliser at Bristol Rovers.

After the gruelling encounter with Colchester, Darren Ferguson will need to assess his players. Does he roll out the same team on Tuesday night and use the FA Cup tie with Tranmere on Saturday to rest a few legs or does he simply take each match as it comes. Our hunch is that, with promotion the main priority, Darren will select his best eleven available and the side will be remarkably similar to that which beat Colchester.

Hopefully, Posh can take the game to Swindon with Makail-Smith, Boyd and McLean giving the home defence all sorts of problems.

Posh will need to be aware of the predatory instincts of Simon Cox. The lad is scoring for fun (he has twelve goals so far this season) at the moment and is reportedly being tracked by clubs from higher leagues, most notably Fulham. Hopefully, our Fulham connection, Gabriel Zakuani can keep this promising youngster in check.

After being unbeaten for so long and with Zakuani yet to taste defeat in a Posh shirt, we`re only too aware that a defeat will inevitably come, however, we`d be very surprised if it were at the County Ground. It`ll be a difficult encounter but here at Vital Posh we can see a 2-0 away win, let`s hope our infamous crystal ball doesn`t let us down this time.
