Vital Posh looks at the latest news coming out of Peterborough United over the past week and also what their rival teams in League One are up to.
GUNFIRE IN TRIPOLI
Gaby Zakuani practised for his latest International appearance with gunfire ringing out in the background!
Tight security was maintained throughout the build-up and match. The transfer-listed defender played the whole match for the DR Congo against Libya as the two-sides battled out a goalless draw.
It was Libya`s first match on home soil for three years after being banned by FIFA from playing matches within Libya.
CLUB 75 LOUNGE SEATS
Seats are currently on sale by Posh within their Club 75 lounge for next season.

POSH SEEDED FOR CAPITAL ONE CUP
Posh have been seeded and are ball number 13 in the southern section of the Capital One Cup.
The draw is made next Monday [17th June] at 9:30am. It could see Posh drawn against the likes of Northampton Town who are unseeded in the southern section.
POSH TRANSFER UPDATE
It`s all been very quiet at Posh with no noises being made which is very unusual as there are normally plenty of rumours doing the rounds.
It is believed Posh have accepted a bid for one of their unwanted strikers though but no official confirmation has been forthcoming from the club as yet.
There has also been no further movement on the Jack Payne transfer and it looks increasingly likely that Posh will miss out on their number one target!! The Gillingham Chairman is now demanding a large fee for him and now Posh have to abide by the 60% rule in terms of playing budget, it “makes life very difficult” according to Posh Chairman Darragh MacAnthony!
Fulham manager Martin Jol has been surprised at the price tag put on the head of striker Dwight Gayle. It is rumoured that Posh have knocked back a £3 million bid from the Cottagers for the striker who is also fancied by Aston Villa and QPR.
Mark Little will depart at the end of June following the end of his contract while George Boyd and Jonson Clarke-Harris have both already moved on to other clubs.
Posh currently have 6 players on the transfer list; all of who have a price tag on their head.
The six players are: Gaby Zakuani, Tommy Rowe, Tyrone Barnett, Emile Sinclair, Danny Kearns and Nicky Ajose.
REPUBLIC OF IRELAND TOUR ANNOUNCED
Posh`s first ever pre-season tour of Ireland under the ownership of Darragh MacAnthony takes place during the first week of July.
The tour will be based in Dublin where Posh will play the Dublin-based teams Shelbourne and UCD.
PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES
The third home pre-season friendly has yet to be announced but, as mentioned above, the tour of Ireland has finally been announced.
The confirmed home pre-season matches are:
Saturday, 13th July – QPR
Monday, 29th July – Hull City
The Republic of Ireland tour covers the following matches:
Monday, 2nd July – Shelbourne
Tuesday, 3rd July – UCD
LEAGUE ONE ROUND-UP
Sheffield United have finally named their manager. His is David Weir who was a coach at Everton last season. It is the first managerial position for the former Scotland International.
The saga at Coventry City continues surrounding the takeover by new owners. The administrators have once again extended the deadline to submit an interest to this Thursday [13th June].
There was some good news for the Sky Blues as they have been offered the Ricoh Arena rent free next season by the stadium owners!
Mick Harford has left his assistant managers job at MK Dons. The 54-year-old had been Karl Robinson`s right-hand man for the past 13 months but leaves after “discussions with the chairman”! The Dons failed to make the League One play-offs last season finishing four points outside the play-offs in eighth place.
TRANSFER MERRY-GO-ROUND
As you would expect at this time of year, there are only a handful of signings being made by clubs.
Stevenage have been the busiest so far signing six players while releasing four players.
Former Posh Player of the Season, Charlie Lee, has been made available for transfer by Gillingham following their promotion from League Two.
