Welcome to the next Posh Weekly as we look at the latest news coming out of Peterborough United, what their rival teams in League One are up to and general footie news.
POSH SIGN FORMER MAGPIES CAPTAIN!!
Posh have made an impressive signing in former Newcastle United captain Steven Taylor!
He will bring a wealth of experience to the club so even if he is unable to challenge for a place week-in week-out, his knowledge and experience will help all the defenders we have.
TRIO OF PLAYERS DEPART THE ABAX
Posh have said farewell to three players in the last week!
In what seems to be a regular occurrence, the Posh Player of the Season has been sold! This season, utility player Michael Bostwick who currently hold the award, has departed the club and signed for National League Champions Lincoln City!
Another player who has joined him at the Imps is youngster Harry Anderson who spent part of last season on loan at Sincil Bank. Bostwick has agreed a two-year deal with Anderson a three-year contract. Both fees were undisclosed!
The third player to depart the club was striker Shaq Coulthirst who had his contract terminated by mutual consent. He has since signed for on of Barry Fry`s old clubs, Barnet.
PENNY PINCHING!
Posh have signed defender Alex Penny from Nuneaton from under the noses of Premiership side West Bromwich Albion!
The 20-year-old signed a three-year contract with Posh and has already made appearances for Posh in the defeats against Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Despite playing in those two defeats, Penny did look useful in those games and seems to have potential.
MIXED RESULTS IN MATCHES
Posh have won two away matches and lost one home match in the last week!
The latest defeat was a narrow one-nil reverse against Wolves after going in level at half-time.
The other two matches saw a stronger Posh side head to Lincoln City, who had both Michael Bostwick and Harry Anderson making their debuts, with a younger side making the very short trip to Deeping Rangers.
Posh cruised into a two-goal lead at Sincil Bank but found themselves level before Jack Marriott sealed the win for Posh.
It was a slightly easier match at Deeping where Posh, captained by local lad Ricky Miller, won four-one.
