Impressive youngster George Thorne has been recalled by his parent club from his loan at Peterborough United.
The 19 year-old has been recalled by WBA following a couple of injuries they have sustained and has been included in their squad for this weekends trip to table toppers Manchester United.
It will be a big blow for Posh as he has brought another dimension to the midfield and has put in excellent performances match after match but it is exactly what Thorne deserves as he has a massive career ahead of him.
It means he will miss the relegation battle with bottom side Bristol City tomorrow [Saturday, 29th December].
Posh boss Darren Ferguson is trying to look on the bright side saying that one player doesn’t make a team. In truth it doesn’t, but Thorne has gone a long way to make the team gel and he seemed to be the missing ingredient Posh had been searching for.
‘There was always a chance West Brom would recall George. He`s their player after all.’ said Ferguson.
‘George has done very well for us and obviously we`re sorry to see him go, but he`s only one player and I`m sure we will cope.
‘Grant McCann has had a decent rest and he will be raring to go should I pick him.’
Many thanks to George Thorne for helping Posh kick-start their League campaign. Hopefully we’ll see you back in a Posh shirt but if not, good luck in your career.
