With coach Mark Robson departing London Road for a new challenge at Barnet, Peterborough United are looking to maintain their three-man management team.

It was widely expected that Robson wouldn’t be replaced but Posh boss Darren Ferguson is keen to keep the three-man management team in place.

‘The three-man management team has worked well for us. The players are used to it so I will be looking to appoint a replacement before we go to Portugal for our training camp.’ commented Fergie.

‘I have a few names in mind and I will start speaking to people when I return from holiday.’

Chairman Darragh MacAnthony has admitted he was never best of pals with Robson but he did respect him as he tweeted: ‘Good luck to Mark Robson at Barnet, we were never best of pals but I have a lot of respect for his coaching abilities & what he did for Posh’.

Fergie was disappointed to see him leave but admitted he couldn’t stand in his way of taking charge of his own team: ‘I didn`t want Mark to leave. He was an excellent coach and the players enjoyed working with him.

‘We had a lot of respect for each other though and it was that respect that meant I couldn`t stand in his way when he decided he wanted to leave.

‘Mark made no secret about wanting to manage and it would have been wrong of us to stop him. I`m unhappy to lose such a good, popular coach, but I wish him well at Barnet.’
