Following Lee Tomlins sending off in the first half against Leeds United on Saturday, Lee Tomlin has issued the following statement via www.theposh.com:

‘I apologised to my team-mates following the final whistle on Saturday and I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to the supporters, management and board for the tackle that led to my dismissal on Saturday against Leeds United.

‘I was frustrated that the referee would not allow George Boyd back onto the pitch and that frustration led to me making the tackle. I was trying to win the ball, but I miss-timed the tackle and I accept the ban that I will be given.

‘The supporters have been first class since I arrived at the club and were fantastic on Saturday. I will work hard in training while I am unavailable for selection and do everything I can to try and get back into the starting line-up when I am free from suspension.’

Maybe now you will stop whinging about the fact that you thought it was unjust. The players admitted he went in hard deliberately. Somebody on here wanted Peterborough to appeal the sending off! lol

Honesty from the man has to be appreciated, bad tackle and he knew it, how you can think about appealing is beyond me.
