Is Peterborough United Chairman Darragh MacAnthony playing a game of truth or bluff with a potential signing?
Stevenage striker Matt Godden was expected at the ABAX Stadium at the end of last week to discuss terms on a potential move to Posh but it has been deathly silent since boss Steve Evans confirmed: “We are hoping to speak to him today [24th May] or tomorrow and we will see where it goes, but he is a player I like.”
No news has come out of London Road or from down the A1 from Stevenage FC but anything could’ve held up the potential meeting. The player may have decided to think about the offer over the weekend or simply negotiations may have broken down!
Expectations were raised on Friday [25th May] though when the club tweeted:
BANK HOLIDAY | A reminder that the football club offices, main reception and ticket office will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday. Unless @DMAC102 is planning to announce a fifth signing of the summer? #pufc

Was that a hint that there would be another signing revealed? When pressed by his Twitter followers, MacAnthony said no announcement would be made today, Bank Holiday Monday:
No announcement tomorrow no https://t.co/VWW08A3h6i

He was also asked about the Godden situation, the response was:
Unlikely we are signing your golden boy. All the best. Good lad/player who has done well for you. https://t.co/r6mh7w16bs

However, we all know he likes his games when suddenly making announcements on new players or has the Godden transfer simply fallen through with Posh now looking elsewhere?
