Midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe and centre-back Scott Wootton signed 6 month loan deals at the start of the season with Peterborough United from Manchester United. Tunnicliffe has made impressive displays for Posh, mainly from the bench while Wootton has also shown glimpses of potential in his brief appearances.

Scott Wootton:

Unfortunately for Wootton, he suffered a knee injury which cut short his loan as he returned to parent club Manchester United.

However, there is good news on the horizon as he returned to training this week and is hoping to play in a game next week before returning to Posh.

Ryan Tunnicliffe:

The fortunes of Tunnicliffe have been completely the opposite as he has featured many of Posh`s games this season, mainly as a substitute, but you can see the bags of potential he has and you know, if he continues to progress, that he will soon grace the Premier League.

Despite being only 18, Tunnicliffe is well thought of at his parent club and has also made a great impression at Posh as Posh are very keen to extend his loan deal for the rest of the seaon.

Posh Director of Football Barry Fry said to Sky Sports: ‘One day I can definitely see him getting into the first-team at Manchester United, but remember that he is still only 18 at the minute and he’s still learning the game,’ he said.

‘When he does come on from the bench he always makes an impact and helps change the game for sure.

‘I think that he has got one hell of a future in front of him because he is very strong, aggressive in winning the ball and goes from box-to-box all game and there aren’t many of those around in the game at the moment.

‘I can definitely see a bright future for him and hopefully Darren can persuade the boy and Manchester United to keep him here till the end of the season and if that is the case it will be a great signing for us.

‘When we took him Sir Alex did say that he only wanted him out till January, so we will have to just cross our fingers and hope he changes his mind on that one.’
