The results are in for the Vital Posh Player of the Season and the Positional Awards for 2016/2017. Who was the Peterborough United Goalkeeper of the season?

This was one of the easiest categories in the player of the season polls. Throughout the season, three different goalkeepers played for Posh with Ben Alnwick starting the season out as number one before he decided to jump ship after playing five times.

Then goalkeeper player/coach Mark Tyler stepped in, also making five appearances throughout the season, but the main bulk of the games Posh had a Tottenham Hotspur loanee in goal.

Ben Alnwick cant keep out Steve Morison for a consolation goal for Millwall

Alnwick conceded 8 goals in his five appearances whilst never keeping a clean sheet. Posh won three and lost two of the matches Alnwick was in goal for.

Tyler was only on the winning side once in his five appearances, losing two and drawing two. He kept one clean sheet but conceded 12 goals in the other four matches including six goals at home to the Norwich City Under 23`s in the tragic Checkatrade Trophy competition!

With Posh seeking a new number one, they plumped on a 21-year-old who had never made a senior appearance for his parent club or any appearance in the Football League.

Luke McGee ended up making 45 appearances out of the 55 matches Posh were involved in during the season. He was on the winning side 17 times while suffering defeat in 18 matches. He kept 10 clean sheets.

It comes as no real surprise that the winner of this category with 100% of the votes was LUKE McGEE.
