The results are in for the Vital Posh Player of the Season and the Positional Awards for 2016/2017. Who was the Peterborough United Midfielder of the season?

After the whitewash of the goalkeeping vote and the two horse race for defender of the season, would the midfielder of the season voting be any closer?

With a choice of fourteen different players to choose from, just four players picked up votes with two of them picking up one vote each!

The other two players were Marcus Maddison and Gwion Edwards with one picking up just 16.67% of the votes with the other player storming to victory with 66.67% of the votes! Who received the bigger percentage of the votes though?

Maddison made 48 appearances for Posh during the season scoring 9 goals and assisting on 18 goals. Edwards was struck by injury at the end of the season which restricted him to 40 matches but he matched the goalscoring feats of Maddison but he only assisted on 4 goals which he must be disappointed with.

The statistics would point to Maddison as being the top midfielder for Posh but in actual fact, the midfielder of the year as voted by you is GWION EDWARDS:
