Rate the Peterborough United players in the Vital Posh Man of the Match Poll for the Sky Bet League One match against Northampton Town which is now up and running.

After picking up what could be a vital point against fellow play-off rivals Rotherham United on Good Friday, Posh had a much easier task against local rivals Northampton Town?although they didn`t have it all their own way; at least at the start!

Cobblers were much the better side in the opening 10 minutes but couldn`t anyway through the Posh back line and when they did, Conor O`Malley thwarted any chances they created.

Posh opened the scoring in the 12th minute though through a freekick from just inside the Posh half! Liam Shephard fired the ball high into the area finding the head of captain Jack Baldwin who nodded in the opening goal.

Less than two minutes later and it was two-nil. The goal was very similar to the first goal with Shephard putting in a freekick from the Posh half. This time left-back Andrew Hughes got his head to the ball who nodded the ball across the area to striker Jack Marriott who coolly lobbed the ball over the on-rushing Cobblers goalkeeper.

Posh created further chances in both halves as they cruised to victory although they did have one major scare when the visitors combined well with the ball ended up hitting the post before being cleared.

The two sides directly above Posh were scheduled to play each other but the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. That meant victory for Posh saw them leapfrog both teams and into fifth place. There is now just one point separating five teams from Posh in fifth to Plymouth Argyle in ninth place. Two of those teams have a game in hand over the others and if they win those, they will push Posh out of the play-offs.

The Cobblers are deep in relegation trouble, two points from safety but they have played up to four games more than the teams around them.

What did you think to the performances of the Posh players and Steve Evans?
