The first half of this match between two sides hoping to finish in the play-off places was a very competitive one.

Posh were denied a penalty and could`ve been two up at half-time but at the same time, the Millers also created chances with Conor O`Malley denying the hosts early on with a good block.

The second half was completely different. It was as if Steve Evans told Posh to “park the bus” but that is a tactic we can never do successfully and so it turned out! Millers substitute Coalan Lavery struck after 68 minutes when Posh failed to clear a freekick.

Hoping for some sort of response from Posh, it was actually the Millers that continued their assault until the dying minutes when they seemed to take their foot off the gas which Posh capitalised on.

With six minutes of added time, Posh started pressing more and with a Millers substitution and some time-wasting by the home side, the official added some added time to the added time. That additional time benefitted Posh as a last gasp attack saw Junior Morias cross the ball for Jack Marriott to score his 30th goal of the season and an undeserved equaliser.

It may have been an undeserved point but how crucial will this point be at the end of the season. Plus, Posh have been on the receiving end of some unjust results this season so maybe this is evening things out a bit?

The draw saw Posh drop out of the play-offs once again as Plymouth Argyle once again leapfrogged them into 6th place. It also means Posh are reliant on other teams dropping points if they are to reach the play-offs.

While Posh could overtake Scunthorpe, who are currently in fifth place, Charlton are level with Posh but have a game in hand. You can also throw into the pot Portsmouth who can catch Posh up if they win their game in hand although they do have a worse goal difference compared to Posh.

The Millers are still comfortable in fourth place, eight points ahead of seventh placed Posh but 13 points away from automatic promotion places.
