With the transfer window slamming shut at 5pm on Thursday, which areas of the pitch do Posh still need to strengthen?
After seeing 19 players (so far!) depart the club this summer and 15 new players arrive, it is easy to say that this is the biggest turnover of playing staff in living memory at the ABAX Stadium.
Boss Steve Evans is still insisting that he needs more players but which areas of the pitch do you feel we need more strength in depth?
The current breakdown of the Posh squad (not including those players remaining on the transfer list) are:
Goalkeepers (4)
Aaron Chapman
Conor O’Malley
Josh Tibbetts
Mark Tyler
Right-Back (1)
Jason Naismith
Central Defenders (3)
Ryan Tafazolli
Rhys Bennett
Josh Yorwerth
Left-Backs (2)
Colin Daniel
Tyler Denton (on loan)
Central Midfielders (5)
Alex Woodyard
Mark O’Hara
Louis Reed
Adam King (on loan – currently injured)
Callum Cooke
Wingers (4)
Siriki Dembele
Joe Ward
George Cooper
Isaac Buckley-Ricketts
Forwards (3)
Matty Godden
Jason Cummings (on loan)
Matty Stevens
If Posh fail to bring anyone in permanently, they will still have until the end of the month to sign players on loan. Bearing in mind we already have three players on loan, section 6 of the EFL Rules and Regulations states that “a maximum of 5 Players registered on a Temporary Loan Transfer can be named in the Players listed on a team sheet for any individual match played under the auspices of The League.”
We rarely have players on loan and when we do, it’s usually only one or two at any one time. With already having three on loan, and with the potential of getting others in on loan should we fail to sign players on a permanent basis, we would need to tread carefully.
Regardless of whether we get more players in on a permanent basis or on loan, which areas of the pitch do you feel we still need to strengthen:
