Posh opened their League campaign with a two-one victory over a disappointing Bristol Rovers side.

With 11 debutant’s for Posh during the match (9 who started), it was never going to be easy to predict how the side would start the season but they couldn’t get off to a much better start with a goal inside the first 60 seconds!

New striker Matty Godden, who is hoping to successfully fill 33-goal striker Jack Marriott’s boots, was the grateful recipient of a delightful cross from new right-back Jason Naismith. Left-back Colin Daniel didn’t want to be outdone by his fellow full-back as midway through the first half, he delivered a pinpoint cross to midfielder Mark O’Hara who was powering in to the box and sent his header flying into the net.

It was certainly a good start against a toothless opposition who, like Posh, are looking to replace a striker that departed during pre-season.
