The man in charge of the Sky Bet League One match between Rotherham United and Peterborough United is SCOTT OLDHAM.
Referee Scott Oldham is in first season as a Football League referee after the self-employed joiner was one of just six to make the leap into the professional game last summer.
Poulton-based Oldham was promoted to Level 1 after just one season refereeing in the National League! “I never expected to be in line for promotion after just one year in the National League, so it`s fantastic for me,” said Oldham.
Oldham has yet to officiate a Posh game but he has already taken charge of two Millers matches this season.
The first was back in September when the Millers stuffed Walsall 5-1. Former Posh men were responsible for all the Millers goals with Lee Frecklington, who has since moved to League Two side Lincoln City, scoring a hat-trick and Jon Taylor scoring a brace. Just one yellow card was shown in the match which went to the Saddlers goalscorer Amadou Bakayoko.
The second Millers match came in the FA Cup at Crewe Alexandra. Midfielder Will Vaulks gave the Millers a half-time lead but goals from Brad Walker two minutes after the break and a goal in the 89th minute from Callum Ainley gave the Alex the victory. Four yellow cards were shown in the match with three of them going to Millers players.
So far this season, Oldham has taken charge of 29 matches issuing 76 yellow cards and five red cards.
The last match Oldham officiated came two weeks ago in the League One match between Rochdale and AFC Wimbledon. Both sides scored a goal each in the first half with no further goals arriving in the second half. Just one yellow card was shown to Dale`s Ian Henderson.
