Posh claimed all three points on the opening day of the season with a comfortable two-one victory over Bristol Rovers.
Two headed goals inside the first 26 minutes of the match was all that was needed to earn Posh maximum points with the first of those goals coming inside 60 seconds!
An excellent cross from right-back Jason Naismith found the head of striker Matty Godden to open the scoring before fellow full-back Colin Daniel provided the pinpoint cross for the second goal. Midfielder Mark O’Hara met the cross to power his header from the edge of the penalty area in what will hopefully be the first of many goals he contributes from midfield.
Posh stood firm in the second-half as Rovers fought back but found most of their efforts coming from long range with many not troubling the goal.
Rovers brought over 800 noisy fans with them which is always nice to see but the pre-match noise soon became silent with that opening minute goal!
