Upset At Loftus Road

|

Ahead of the Carabao Cup First Round clash between QPR and Peterborough United, we talked about how Posh could cause an upset by beating their Championship opponents.

Leading up to the game, all the talk from the QPR side was whether their side were capable of beating Posh with many expecting Posh to ease past their side. So did Posh go into this clash as favourites?

If they did, it ended as an “upset” as Posh gifted their hosts two goals inside the first six minutes of the match as they failed to turn up in the first 45 minutes of this match! Either that or, as we feared, we gave them too much respect as they played in a higher League!

Whatever the reason for that first 45 minutes, whether it be not turning up or giving them too much respect or simply the personnel changes made to the starting line-up and the tactics employed by Posh boss Steve Evans, the match was effectively over after those six minutes.
