Football League sponsors Sky Bet have installed Peterborough United as favourites to beat their visitors Bristol Rovers in the League One clash today.
Peterborough United v Bristol Rovers
Location: ABAX Stadium
Date: Saturday, 24th March, 2018
Kick-off: 15:00pm
Posh have been installed as favourites to beat the Pirates in a clash between two sides chasing the play-offs. A win for Posh could see them move back into the play-offs depending on results from Scunthorpe United`s match against Rochdale and Plymouth Argyle`s match at Charlton Athletic. If Rovers, who are seven points away from the play-offs, pick up a win, it will edge them closer to where they want to be, come the end of the season.
Posh lost their first match in eight outings last weekend when going down two-one at Oxford United and they will need to go on a similar unbeaten run if they are to cement a place in the play-offs.
Rovers also lost their last match at Plymouth Argyle three-two, a result which saw the Green Army leapfrog Posh into the play-offs. Prior to that defeat, Rovers had lost just once in their previous six matches.
With both sides having picked up decent results prior to last weekend, it`s hard to see why Posh have been installed as clear favourites by Football League sponsors Sky Bet. Posh have odds of 11/10 for the win with Rovers priced at 23/10. The draw is 13/5. There again, you have to go back to the 2006/07 season to find the last time Rovers beat Posh! Since then, Posh have won six of the seven matches the sides have played while drawing the other one!

Seven different predictions have so far been voted for with four of them for a Posh victory, one for a Pirates win and two draws. The favourite prediction so far is a two-one Posh win which has picked up 25% of the votes so far and has odds of 15/2. The single Pirates win is a 3-1 victory which you can get odds of 25/1.
Last season at the ABAX Stadium, Posh cruised to victory scoring two goals in each half only to see Rovers Rory Gaffney score two goals in the final five minutes to reduce the deficit. Leo Da Silva Lopes scored two of those goals including the opener after thirteen minutes but he will be missing today as he is away on International duty with the Portugal under 20`s.
Can Posh repeat their victory this season or will the Pirates collect their first win over Posh for over 10 years? The bookies certainly think Posh can pick up the win but what do you think the score will be?
