Luton-based official Graham Horwood has the pleasure of refereeing the last League game at the ABAX Stadium this season.

The experienced official is coming to the end of his ninth season as a Football League official and in that time has taken charge of nine Posh matches and three Cod Army games.

Posh have only lost one of those nine matches but on the flip side, they’ve only won twice meaning six matches have ended in a draw!

The last Posh match Horwood officiated came 16 months ago in a Boxing Day clash against Gillingham. Three yellow cards were shown in the match but the only one received by Posh went to midfielder Leo Da Silva Lopes. After a goalless first-half, Posh struck the opening goal of the game with just 12 minutes remaining via Lee Angol. However, they couldn’t hang on to all three points as they conceded an equalizer in the 90th minute!

The Cod Army are not only unbeaten in their three games under Horwood but they have a 100% winning record. Two of those victories came in the 2012/13 League Two season when they won at Portsmouth (0-1) and at Cheltenham Town (1-2).

The last time Horwood refereed the Cod Army was also last season and once again it was an away match. This time it was at Oxford United where five yellow cards were dished out with four of them going to the visitors. Both sides shared two goals inside the first ten minutes of the match before Ashley Eastham (76) and former Posh striker David Ball (87) won the game for the Cod Army.

So far this season, Horwood has officiated 23 matches issuing just 78 yellow cards and two red cards. Nine of those matches have been in League One.

His highest card count for a match this season is 7 cards which came in mid-March in the League Two clash between Crawley Town and Wycombe Wanderers. Crawley received four yellow cards and one red card to Mark Connolly who received his marching orders in the 90th minute. Wanderers won the match three-two.

The last match Horwood officiated was on Easter Monday in the League One match between play-off rivals Charlton Athletic and Rotherham United. The Addicks won three-one while also picking up all three yellow cards shown during the match.

His statistics for the last few seasons in the Football League are:

2017/18 – 23 matches – 8 home wins – 8 away wins – 7 draws
2016/17 – 31 matches – 13 home wins – 10 away wins – 8 draws
2015/16 – 12 matches – 4 home wins – 5 away wins – 3 draws

Card Tally For Last Few Seasons:

2017/18 – Games 23 – Yellow 78 – Red 2
2016/17 – Games 31 – Yellow 113 – Red 6
2015/16 – Games 12 – Yellow 46 – Red 4

His matches involving Posh and the Cod Army to date are:

Posh – 9 matches – 2 wins – 6 draws – 1 defeat
Cod Army – 3 matches – 3 wins – 0 draws – 0 defeats
