Peterborough United fans could see Martin Samuelsen grace the ABAX Stadium pitch again next season.

The popular loanee could be heading back to Posh next season but it may be as a one-off though as Posh have arranged a friendly with West Ham United which will see the Premier League side bring an ‘XI’ to face Posh.

The friendly will take place on Tuesday, 19th July at 7:30pm.

Posh faced a Hammers side during pre-season last year which ended in an entertaining three-all draw. That was the first time Posh fans caught a glimpse of the impressive Samuelsen who actually scored one of the goals for West Ham on that occasion.

Posh have confirmed three more friendlies all against local non-league sides Boreham Wood, Boston United and Histon.

The match against the Pilgrims will be a testimonial for John Blackwell who has served at Boston in various roles for nearly 40 years! The match will take place on Saturday, 9th July kicking off at 3pm.

Boston currently play in the Conference North and just missed out on promotion after losing to North Ferriby United in the play-offs. There have been plenty of player connections between Posh and the Pilgrims down the years. Defender Carl Piergianni has recently departed Boston after spending a number of years at the club while current Posh coaches Dave Farrell and Ryan Semple have both spent time playing at the Jakemans Stadium. The latest connection was as recent as last season when striker Jack Friend was supposed to have been at the club on a season-long youth loan but it was cut short after making just 6 appearances. Friend was released by Posh at the end of this season and has since joined up with his hometown club Wisbech Town who play in the United Counties Premier Division.

A Posh XI will face Histon four days before the League season kicks off. The match against the Southern League side will take place on Tuesday, 2nd August kicking off at 7:30pm. Posh signed Jordan Nicholson from the Stutes last season but he missed the back end of the campaign with a broken leg although he had very little opportunity to impress the Posh fans prior to that as he spent most of his time either out of the side or sat on the substitutes bench. When he did make his brief appearances, it was at desperate times in matches under Graham Westley so we may not have seen him at his best!

The third match arranged against non-league sides is against Boreham Wood. The National League side will host Posh on Monday, 11th July.
