Vital Posh looks at the latest news coming out of Peterborough United over the past week and also what their rival teams in League One are up to.
13,000+ WEMBLEY TICKETS SOLD
Tickets have now gone on general sale for the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy Final at Wembley.
Posh have now sold over 13,000 tickets for the match against League Two promotion chasers Chesterfield.
The match is due to kick off at 2pm on Sunday, 30th March.
RELEGATION FORM CONTINUES
Posh are seemingly determined to throw away their chance of getting back to the Championship at the first attempt by continuing their relegation form.
They did halt the two-match run of defeats with a win over relegation threatened Crewe Alexandra but it was difficult at times to work out who was in the play-off places and who was in the relegation places!
Despite going behind to an exquisite chip from Crewe`s leading scorer Chuks Aneke, Posh hit back through a Britt Assombalonga penalty and Nicky Ajose. Crewe levelled things up just before the hour mark through Aneke but Posh upped the tempo again and immediately went ahead when Danny Swanson finished off some neat build up play. Conor Washington capped off an outstanding display by notching the last goal of the game and his first ever goal for Posh.
After defeating Crewe, Posh next hosted another team that has been in or around the relegation places all season but have now started to edge away from danger. Bristol City turned up having lost just one of their previous six matches and they were determined to continue their improved run of form; and that is just what they did.
Two goals in the opening 17 minutes effectively won the contest for the Robins but they did it the hard way in the end after having defender Adam Al-Abd sent off for violent conduct. Michael Bostwick pulled a goal back for Posh before half-time but some inspired goalkeeping in the second half by Robins keeper Frank Fielding kept Posh at bay and consigned them to their 14th defeat of the season!
KEARNS HEADS TO JPT FINAL RIVALS
Midfielder Danny Kearns has joined Johnstone`s Paint Trophy Final rivals Chesterfield.
The League Two table-toppers have signed Kearns for an initial one month period and immediately named him in their squad for their match at AFC Wimbledon. Kearns came on as a 66th minute substitute and made a good impression.
Spireites manager said after their 1-1 draw: “Our fans will love Daniel, he`s a typical good player – bright in possession, he`s got a trick and he`s a bright young player.”
It`s a pity Darren Ferguson can`t see that as well!!

Danny Swanson has finally come out from the shadow of George Boyd and more latterly, Lee Tomlin to get a good run of games under his belt and he has repaid the faith shown in him by putting in a lot of good performances.

LEAGUE ONE ROUND-UP
Wolves 4-1 win over Swindon Town on Tuesday evening broke the club record of number of consecutive wins. They`ve now won their last night matches, scoring 25 goals and conceding just two!!
Despite Wolves having won their last nine matches, they are still just two points ahead of Leyton Orient, although they do have two games in hand on the O`s, and three points ahead of Brentford. The London duo face each other at the weekend so it could give Wolves the chance to finally extend their lead at the top.
Should the O`s or the Bees slip up, Preston North End and Rotherham United are still picking up points on a regular basis and could pounce.
With the top five places in League One all but mathematically claimed, there is just one place realistically left to claim and Posh are doing their best to give it away! Posh are just three points ahead of MK Dons who they face on Saturday! The Dons have played one game more than Posh as have Swindon and Walsall who have also slipped up in recent weeks. Sheffield United`s recent form could seem them make a late charge for the last play-off place and could be worth a punt to go up!
At the bottom, Stevenage have managed to get out of the bottom four after picking up yet another point; this time against promotion chasing Preston North End. Boro are unbeaten since narrowly losing to Posh last month. Tranmere Rovers and Crewe Alexandra are level on points with Boro but have a worse goal difference and so find themselves in the bottom four. Shrewsbury Town are three points behind the trio while Notts County remain rooted to the bottom of League One five points from safety.
