Welcome to the next Posh Weekly as we look at the latest news coming out of Peterborough United, what their rival teams in League One are up to and general footie news.

It`s been yet another quiet week at Peterborough United unless you include the Elton John concert that took place at the ABAX Stadium on Sunday evening!

Many players are still on holiday so until they start returning, discussions can`t be finalised despite deals being agree between Posh and the clubs concerned!

ANDERSON CONTRACT WITHDRAWN!

The contract extension put on the table for Jermaine Anderson at the end of last season has been withdrawn by the club!

With the 21-year-old suffering a serious knee injury to both knees during the last two seasons enabling him to make just 27 appearances, his agent believes he deserves a bigger contract! The contract Posh have offered reflects the seriousness of the injuries suffered and so it has more appearance based incentives rather than a big standard salary.

With the demands being made by Anderson`s agent, Posh have decided to withdraw the offer for now and see how his recuperation goes as he`s not due back until October or November!

NO RETURN FOR MARK LITTLE

Mark Little v Bradford

When Mark Little was released by Championship side Bristol City at the end of last season, Posh Director of Football, Barry Fry, was quick off the mark to see if a deal could be made to bring the right-back back to the ABAX.

Although nothing permanent has been agreed, the 28-year-old is expected to stay in the Championship plus his wages would`ve been too much for Posh!

TOUCH AND GO FOR McGEE

luke-mcgee-v-chesterfield

When Luke McGee returned to his parent club Tottenham Hotspur after a fairly successful season on loan at Posh, everyone at the club knew Posh had to make getting a new number one a priority in the summer.

Posh have already brought in a teenager who they feel will push the new number one but who will that be?

McGee looks to be the preferred choice but Spurs seemingly want to hold on to their man until August! Posh have confirmed they can`t wait that long for a decision on whether they can bring McGee back either on loan or permanently and so have put offers out to three other goalkeepers!

OTHER POSH NEWS

The following are a few other pieces of news to come out relating to Posh:

Gillingham made a brief call to Posh asking about the availability of Michael Bostwick but were put off straight away by the fee involved!

Posh have agreed a fee for Luke James and it is now down to James and his agent to negotiate terms with the mystery club.

Posh have agreed terms with a club for Shaq Coulthirst but the player has so far turned the offer down?and it`s not Mansfield Town!

Darragh MacAnthony hasn`t ruled out rugby matches being played at the ABAX Stadium again?but a new pitch would have to be installed beforehand!

Posh will be looking to put on 4 or 5 events per season following the success of the Elton John concert on Sunday.

Posh did approach Bradford City`s out-of-contract defender Rory McArdle but realised it was a no-goer right from the off so they didn`t even get as far as the negotiating table.

POSH RUMOUR MILL

Brad Inman is rumoured to be interesting League Two duo Coventry City and Mansfield Town.

Josh Windass, son of Dean, is looking for a move south of the border as he looks to leave Rangers. Media reports suggest Posh did enquire about him although Darragh MacAnthony has confirmed he`s not a fan! The reports also suggest there is interest from MK Dons and Fleetwood Town but Windass` dad wants him to move to a Championship club!
