The latest Posh Weekly looks at the latest news coming out of Peterborough United over the past week and also what their rival teams in League One are up to.

It`s been a very quiet week for news relating to Posh but there are a few snippets to bring you.

Goal of the Months – March-May 2015

The final “monthly” goal of the month poll has ended with Conor Washington`s strike at Sheffield United coming out on top with 34.62% of the votes.

PRE-SEASON MATCHES CONFIRMED

Posh have confirmed two pre-season matches so far. The first one is at Erhun Oztumer`s former side, Dulwich Hamlet on Wednesday, 8th July with the second confirmed match being on Saturday, 25th July at the ABAX Stadium and will be against Championship side Ipswich Town.

The players return to pre-season training on Monday, 29th June.

POSH ARE FOURTH FAVOURITES FOR THE TITLE

Now we know the full composition of League One, the first odds show Posh are fourth favourites to win the League One title.

Managerless Sheffield United are the current favourites for the title and are followed by relegated sides Milwall and Wigan Athletic.

Favourites for the drop are Crewe Alexandra with Port Vale, Colchester United and Gillingham also expected to be in the bottom four.

5,500 MILE TRIP

Will you be attending every away Posh League match this season? If you are, you face a round journey of over 5,500 miles!

After two reasonably local sides (MK Dons and Notts County) exited League One in different directions, the round trip faced by Posh has increased this season and is now 5,518 miles.

The closest side to Posh is now Coventry City which is a round trip of 131 miles while the furthest team is still Fleetwood Town at just under 400 miles!

POSH RUMOUR MILL

It appears from a recent interview with Posh manager Dave Robertson that the loan market may play a big part to the forthcoming League One campaign for Posh. We already knew that Posh are after some young Premiership talent for the forthcoming season but this latest interview confirms that we may not be seeing as many new permanent faces as many Posh fans had hoped!

There are two names that have been mentioned as possible targets, one of whom has been looking for a club for a while and is a former Posh Youth player. Jack Collison is the man in question.

He`s in his mid-20`s and has spent most of his career at West Ham United making over 100 appearances for the Premier League outfit. He had two brief loan spells at Bournemouth and Wigan Athletic before signing a short term deal at Ipswich Town at the start of last season. He had an injury hit time at the Tractor Boys and failed to make an appearance before being released in December and was unable to attract the interest of another club for the remainder of last season. Would Posh take the chance on the injury hit midfielder?

The second player rumoured to be interesting Posh is Stevenage winger Ben Kennedy. He is hot property though as the 18-year-old has already attracted the attention of Arsenal, Spurs, Manchester City and a host of other Premier League clubs!

LEAGUE ONE ROUND-UP

The League season came to an end last weekend. Preston North End easily brushed aside Swindon Town 4-0 to head back to the Championship while Southend United struck a last gasp equaliser in extra time against Wycombe Wanderers and then went on to win the penalty shoot-out 7-6 to win promotion to League One.

Nigel Clough has surprisingly departed Sheffield United. Having guided the Blades to a play-off position, they were unable to overcome Swindon Town in the play-off semi-finals, a result which ultimately cost Clough his job! There are a host of names being banded about to take over with Nigel Adkins the current favourite after the Blades were knocked back by Bradford City after they enquired after their boss Phil Parkinson.

Controversial Blackpool owner Karl Oyston has rejected a takeover approach for the club. The club were relegated after finishing bottom of the Championship last season and had their final home match of the season abandoned after fans invaded the pitch to protest against the owner.

OTHER NEWS OF INTEREST

Dwight Gayle is definitely in demand. After Bournemouth registered their interest last week, Cardiff City and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also interested in the Crystal Palace striker!

Former Posh defender Ian Hendon has been installed as the new manager of League Two side Leyton Orient. It`s a club Hendon knows well as he spent four years there in the mid-90`s.
