Results are in for the next Vital Posh Player of the Month for the 2012/2013 Season. Who has won the December poll?
It was a much improved month which saw three wins on the bounce including an outstanding win at Cardiff City who until then had a 100% winning record at home.
Overall, Posh won three and lost three. This 50% winning record may soon be the minimum needed if Posh are to escape relegation to League One.
The upturn in form coincided with the arrival of forward Dwight Gayle and midfielder George Thorne, both of whom were on loan from Dagenham & Redbridge and WBA.
Thorne, despite only being 19-years-old, was exceptional during his time on-loan before he was recalled by his parent club to go straight into their team to play at Manchester United. He has been an ever-present in the WBA side ever since. While at Posh, he was different class altogether and someone we can only dream about owning outright. He bossed midfield as he was able to cover every blade of grass, put in tackles and make that killer pass as well as coming up with the odd goal. He reminded us of a young Frank Lampard and should go on to represent England!!
Gayle scored an incredible seven goals in the six December games which earned him the accolade of the npower Championship Player of the Month but was this good enough to win the Vital Posh Player of the Month?
The top three players for December`s Vital Posh Player of the Month, as voted by you, were:
3rd Place: 10% George Thorne
2nd Place: 16% Bobby Olejnik
1st Place: 50% DWIGHT GAYLE
