At six feet three inches Shane Blackett has all the attributes to be a solid defender.
Signed from Dagenham and Redbridge, Shane is capable of playing at either left back and centre half.
Unfortunately, his Posh career has suffered from injury in recent times. The back end of last season saw him miss the promotion run in and two shoulder dislocations have affected his progress this season.
Nevertheless, Shane remains a valuable member of the squad and the fact that he has represented England at non-league level shows that the talent is there.
At twenty-six years of age he was a late developer in terms of joining the professional ranks but has proven that persistence is a virtue to be encouraged.
