Central defender Kelvin Langmead has departed Peterborough United after having his contract terminated by mutual consent.
He has spent this season on loan at League Two strugglers Northampton Town but this week returned to London Road following the end of his loan.
He has now returned to Sixfields and signed an 18-month contract for Aidy Boothroyds side.
