After the 90th minute goal from Crystal Palace that sent Posh down to League One, what have people said and tweeted?

Gutted Posh players after the match which relegated them to League One

As you would expect, every Posh fan was devastated with the final outcome as they took to twitter to share their thoughts:

@JG16_
Relegated by a goal in the 89th minute from a free kick that both managers say shouldn’t of been given. Somes up the season. #PUFC

@leanderboy62
Right, draw a line under that, looking forward to a great season next year, no play offs, straight up as champions

@neilgilby
I feel shocked, bereaved, hurt and deflated all at the same time, I;m gonna mope and feel sorry for myself tonight but tomorrow I’ll be itching for next season to start, back on the bike and go again, I fancy a season going up as champions and that’s the next objective!
For those that think I’m dreaming, we have the best chairman in the world steering our ship, would you bet against us? Not likely! #pufc

@PaulStainton
Posh are down-crap decision sends them down-I have nothing left to say-phone is going OFF #worstday

@BBCManish
FT Palace 3-2 Pboro. Posh are down #commiserarions #greateffort

@PTMarkPlummer
Cruel doesn’t even come close to describing this. Posh are down

@kezzaweave
‘Some people believe football is a matter of life and death…I can assure you it is much, much more important than that!’ So true!! #pufc

@devilfists
It’s only football. Worse things to happen in life. We will be back. UTP

@eamonnduff
The hardest part to accept is that this Posh team would have gone so well in next year’s Championship. #heartbreaking

@mwl1967
Absolutely gutted but shit happens sometimes. Let’s re-group and win League One next season. Need to hang on to best players tho.

Peter Burrow admiring the cheerleaders

Peter Burrow, who enjoyed the pre-match entertainment [above], received a special message from his Crystal Palace rival @PeteEagle_CPFC: “Commiserations to my buddy @PeterBurrow1934 and the Boro fans, but am sure you’ll be back soon.”

Posh players also took to Twitter after the game:

Alex Pritchard (@pritch_93)
Gutted about today’s result, just not good enough!

Gaby Zakuani (@Gabs50Zakuani)
Absolutely devastated, gutted for everyone connected with Peterborough United, #pufc always bounce back no matter what, I’m lost for words.
As hard as it is to say, well done to Barnsley, Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday.
You really couldn`t make it up, but that`s football.

Grant McCann (@grantmccann11)
Absolutely devastated. Words can;t describe how I feel right now.
Massive thanks to all the fans who made the trip today. Gutted we couldn’t do it for you all.

Kane Ferdinand (@KFerdinand92)
This is actually the worst feeling

Dwight Gayle (@dwightgayle)
Absolutely gutted is all I can say

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (@MendezLaing)
Words can`t describe!
Thanks for all the tweets means a lot! We will bounce back for sure! Bed for me! Thanks to the travelling fans! You were amazing!

As usual, Posh Chairman Darragh MacAnthony took to twitter straight after the match had finished:
I`m heartbroken and it all finishes with a s**t refereeing decision as well.
Sorry Posh fans I have let you down big time.
Well done to Barnsley and Huddersfield on securing your Championship status.
I have had 200 abusive tweets from Huddersfield fans but happy for Dean Hoyle (chairman).

MacAnthony wasn`t the only one to receive abusive tweets from bitter Huddersfield fans as Vital Posh and other Posh fans found out after the match!! It`s hilarious really that these so-called fans prefer to abuse people at another club rather than celebrate their survival!!

Plans are already under way for next season and although many fans are concerned over whether Posh will have to sell a number of their star players, Darragh MacAnthony believes Posh will be back stronger: “Still heartbroken, but planning has already started again. Championship we shall see you in 12 months stronger & better!”
