Posh moved into the League One play-off places with an emphatic 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town.
Two goals in each other were enough to dismiss the visitors as a jubilant crowd of just over 7,000 filed out of London Road following an entertaining match.
Darren Ferguson, as we predicted chose to restore Aaron McLean to his starting line up and the striker repaid him with a brace of goals.
Indeed, it only took McLean twelve minutes to open his account when he fired into the net after a pass from George Boyd had set him up.
We didn`t have long to wait for the second as that came twelve minutes alter courtesy of Boyd who fired home from inside the area after collecting a pass from Charlie Lee.
The first half could have brought further goals, Coutts shot wide from a good position, McLean had shots blocked by first Clarke and then Williams and as the half reached its conclusion, Boyd saw a shot blocked by Lucketti before Whelpdale headed wide.
As for Huddersfield they to had several efforts, Worthington fired over. Dickinson saw a shot blocked by Zakuani, Worthington volleyed wide Roberts saw a shot saved by Joe Lewis.
The second half saw Posh strike twice in the space of eight crucial minutes to put the game well out of the reach of Huddersfield.
The first goal came in the fifty-fifth minute when Whelpdale headed a Boyd cross into the bottom corner and eight minutes later, in the sixty third minute, McLean got his second of the game when he drilled in a Coutts pass from eighteen yards.
At 4-0 it was all over and Ferguson chose to make a host of substitutions withdrawing McLean, Coutts and Boyd and introducing Torres, Hyde and Batt.
Further action saw Mackail-Smith have a shot saved by Glennon, Lee headed a corner just wide, Whelpdale saw a shot, from distance saved before Lee saw a shot fumbled but finally saved by the keeper.
Deep into stoppage time Lucketti received a straight red card for a professional foul on Mackail-Smith to compound the misery for the visitors.
All in all a good performance and Posh are now handily placed to make this a special season. As for Huddersfield, after shipping nine goals in two games, away from home, it`s easy to see why their supporters have reservations about the direction their team is heading in.
