Have you ever seen anything like that?

I could have sworn we were down and out at half time, we`d shipped four goals, some would say floppy goals and then we made the sort of comeback that makes you wonder why we can`t play like that every week.

So let`s see how, chronologically, the game panned out!

6 mins – Joe Ledley gives the visitors the lead with the goal coming minutes after Whittingham had hit the post. Whittingham slipped inside the defender and laid the ball back fro Ledley to strike home.

23 mins – Joe Ledley doubles the lead, who`d have believed that he hadn`t scored since March. This time the goal came after a corner found Ledley, unmarked, from four yards out he made no mistake.

34 mins – Jay Bothroyd makes it 3-0 after a long ball down the middle saw Exodus Geohaghan head the ball straight to Bothroyd who finished superbly from twenty-five yards out.

38 mins Peter Whittingham makes it 4-0, with fans wondering whether to head for the exits now. Bothroyd had been fouled and Whittingham drove in a super free kick from twenty-five yards out.

Half Time – A stiff drink was needed, this looked like being a rout! But little did we know.

51 mins – With Lee Frecklington and Josh Simpson on as substitutes it was Simpson who made an immediate impact latching onto a ball from Craig Mackail-Smith to stick the ball through the keepers legs. Cries of

“We`re gonna win 5-4.”

filled the London Road air.

65 mins – Charlie Lee makes it 4-2 after a George Boyd corner hadn`t been cleared netting from close range.

89 mins – With time fast running out George Boyd scores with a great volley. The noise inside London Road increases ten fold with nobody making for the exits.

90 mins – It`s 4-4! Substitue keeper James McKeown comes up for a corner and amidst chaotic scenes Simpson notches his second of the game.

Still time to thwart a couple of Cardiff attacks but has there been a better game at London Road in recent years?

You tell me!
