Posh – A Tale of Two Bosses!

With the dust settling on what was the most fantastic and entertaining of games, we thought we`d take a look at what the managers, of both sides had to say.

First up is our own Mark Cooper on his team coming from 4-0 down to draw 4-4.

Here`s what Mark had to say,

“I`m frustrated more than anything. Why does it take us to be 4-0 down for us to start playing? I said more to them afterwards than I did at half-time.”

“At 4-0 down there`s no pressure on you and you can go out and play.”

“But the position we`re in means we have to play for 90 minutes, not 45.”

“At half time I feared a cricket score. I was tempted to get in my car and just drive off – and maybe the fans would have been happy if I did.”

We probably would have Mark such was our frustration at half time!

As for Dave Jones, manager of high-flying Cardiff City, he had this to say, about throwing away a four goal lead,

“The players thought the game was done and dusted but it wasn`t. Far too many switched off and they know it.”

“We allowed them back into a game when they were dead and buried. I`ve never been involved in anything like that before.”

“It was all down to players not doing what they had been told to do. We said all the right things to them at half time but too many of them decided to do it their way – and they were totally wrong.”

“They scored four goals and thought they had done the job but it wasn`t finished for another 45 minutes.”

“That`s not about ability, it`s a mental thing. Maybe one or two of them will always stay at this level if that`s the mentality they have.”

Some harsh word indeed!

With a FA Cup tie to follow this weekend, we`ve a little time to forget our Championship plight and concentrate on other matters.
