Already, over the past few weeks, we`ve cast doubts about the squad remaining together when the ‘Fat Lady` finally gets to sing.

Our fears were proved right by the sudden and dramatic departure of George Boyd to Nottingham Forest and already the speculation is mounting as to who might be the next to jump ship.

Many suspect that Joe Lewis, our England U21 keeper, is far too good to languish in League One and could be the next to leave.

Speaking to the media, it`s refreshing to hear that Joe hasn`t given up on staying up, remarking,

“I`m not giving up and no-one in the dressing room is.”

“It`s not looking good and we`ve got a lot of work to do. But two or three quick wins would give us a chance – and stranger things have happened in football. We have to believe we can do it.”

A commendable attitude but somewhat sullied in the next few comments when the subject of next season is broached, with Joe remarking,

“I love it here but if it`s the right the right move for me and its right for the club then I`d go.”

“I want to continue to develop my career and if I am to play for England then I`ll need to be at a Premier League club.”

So it looks like adios Joe if we`re to be brutally honest!
