Joe picks up another U21 cap!

Having already qualified thanks to victories over Finland and Spain, the U21 boss, Stuart Pearce, was able to make some wholesale changes for the last group fixture in the U21 tournament stages.

Whilst many of us were hoping that our very own Joe Lewis would start, Pearce, instead, opted for Scott Loach to take over form Joe Hart.

However, with the game delicately balanced at 1-1 at half time, Pearce did introduce our Joe at half time, thereby ensuring that every member of the U21 squad had taken part in the tournament.

As for his contribution, Joe didn`t exactly have a lot to do as England slowed the game down knowing full well that a draw would give them the status they wanted as group winners thereby allowing them to remain at their current base for the semi-final on Friday.

Nevertheless, we expect Joe enjoyed the experience and hopefully we`ll see more of him as the tournament progresses, even if it is the occasional picture of him sat on the bench!
