For those fortunate enough to see Aaron McLean score his 18th goal of the season, you might have been a little bemused by his celebration.

Thankfully, after the match, in an interview given with the media, Aaron was able to enlighten us.

With regards to the first part whereby he appeared to rub his groin, Aaron remarked,

“I was lying in agony with their fans booing me after taking a knock in the you-know-whats.”

“So when I scored I ran past them holding my groin.”

“It was just a little good humoured banter but I actually love the abuse I get from opposition supporters.”

“The more they get on my back or the more I get kicked to bits, the better I play and the more I want to score.”

It must be a human trait because whenever anybody gets a kick in the unmentionables laughter ensues.

But what about the second bit?

Aaron explained that was linked to his recent bowling exploits in a party of four that includes Tom Williams, Nicola McLean and Aaron and his girlfriend, when he remarked,

“We have been playing quite a bit of ten pin bowling recently as a squad and I`ve been getting my fair share of strikes.”

“Both the girls have been going on about showing off my bowling action in my goal celebrations so I added that in for them.”

Got to say though Aaron, it was okay-ish but not one of our all-time favourites!
