With the phrase ‘credit crunch` on everyone`s lips these days, there is the suggestion that in economic terms, football is in fro a rocky ride.

Already, we`ve commented on reported interest from West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City for two of our stars and question whether the club will polite refuse any forthcoming offers or whether the cash incentive will be too good to turn down.

Thankfully, it looks that, thanks to the fortune of Darragh MacAnthony, both will be staying.

Our owner, who owns the worlds largest overseas property management companies (MRI Overseas Property) has confirmed that despite the global crisis Posh will not be forced to sell.

In an interview recently given Mr MacAnthony, who has watched several of his rivals succumb to the crisis, remarked,

‘We fortunately do not need to sell any of our players and I am confident with the squad our manager has put together that 2009 will see the Posh as a Championship club and one more promotion from the promised land.

‘As far as the offers apparently floating around the press, well the clubs involved can keep dreaming if they think I would sell these players for the small change mentioned.

‘Like I keep saying to everyone, these players will be worth millions more this time next year in the Championship and they are all on three and four year contracts.’

Heart-warming words for all Posh supporters we think.
